Star Trek Movie Night

Three words: Best. Night. Ever.
At least in terms of promotion nights at AT&T Park. A weird mix of two of our favorite things, baseball, and Star Trek.
When Glenn and I got to the park, we immediately found the first cool thing of the night: a prize wheel that you spin to win a t-shirt or other prizes.
We both won t-shirts. Yay!

Next to the prize wheel booth was a photo booth:

We then made our way inside the park, and proceeded to the party area behind the scoreboard.
After getting our Vulcan foam fingers and drink vouchers, we went inside the party area and got our free beers.

We watched the folks in charge raffle off a bunch of signed baseballs (signatures by the cast of Star Trek!) and pick the finalists for the Star Trek Costume Contest.
After they picked the finalists, we made our way up to our seats, got some food, and settled in for the cold night.
The finalists took to the area behind home plate, and the winner was an Orion Slave Woman who we passed by on our way up to our seats. She later came up to our section and sat in front of us.

The game itself began promisingly, with the Giants scoring 3 runs and Barry Zito shutting the Dodgers down for 6 innings.
The capper of the night came when, in between innings, they began showing a Giants flashback video, with Barry Bonds. As I sat and watched, thinking how much I actually miss seeing him play, Renel announced that Barry was AT THE GAME. I was on my feet and cheering before he was shown on the big screen.

Wow.
By the middle of the 7th, the Dodgers had taken a 4-3 lead, and we were freezing our butts off. The Ducks had also taken a 3-1 lead on the Sharks, as I listened to the hockey game on my radio. We left during the 7th inning stretch.
We got to the car and listened to the game on the way home. I was in the house and watching the end of the Sharks’ season before I switched over and saw that the Giants came from behind and Beat LA 5-4. Woohoo!
So it was a great night at the ballpark, even though it was cold, and the Sharks were knocked out of the playoffs. Again.
Pictures!
