Battle Report: Orks vs. Star Force

After a 3 year hiatus, Glenn and I got together to play Warhammer 40K.
It was the first game that I got to play with my new ork army.

Result:
- Orks suffered 53% casualties (38 of 72 various boyz)
- Marines suffered 79% casualties (1 of 2 dreadnoughts, 17 of 17 Marines, 1 of 5 bike)

Late in the game, Glenn realized that he had forgotten to deploy his terminators.
So it was actually a 1000 point Ork force against an 800 point Space Marine force. Whoops.

As much as I am an Imperial Guard fan, I love playing Orks!
Initial deployment: took me about 3 times longer to place my guys on the battlefield than Glenn

Glenn got two hits on my Powah Nobz squad, and I simply needed to roll a '2' or higher on a single die to 'save' them
Frak....
Glenn decimated my Powah Nobz, which he called retribution for my lucky shot a few years back that killed a dreadnought
The armies converge on each other....
Glenn knocks out a 4th Powah Nob leaving 'Pinky' to fend for himself
Finally, my shoota boyz hit 3 of his guys!
The one Ork Kommando at the bottom lost 5 of his mates, so he turned tail and ran. Glenn eventually picked him off.
CLOSE COMBAT!!!! Which I learned that the Orks are VERY good at, altough Pinky couldn't even take out the bike that killed his squad...
GET 'EM LADZ! KILL DA HUMIES!!!!
WAAAGH!!!!! CRUSH DERE BONZ!!! SNAP EM IN TWO!!!!

Pinky eventually falls to the same biker who killed the other Powah Nobz
Swarming the captain....
... who is eventually killed
The bike was finally taken out by the shootas after finishing close combat with the Space Marine captain
The Ladz manage a glancing blow that DESTROYED this dreadnought!
Final turn, the two sides begin to disengage and regroup
The Orks dcide to burn down the one small group of trees on the battlefield
Glenn's survivors
My surviviors. Good job, boyz! WAAAGH!!!!
